Climate Conversations

Climate Conversations

Join members of the Chelmsford Climate Action Team (C-CAT) and the Massachusetts Chapter of Elders Climate Action for discussions and action to address climate change in our community.

Dana Rebeiro and Rose DeCosta of Vineyard Wind will be doing a presentation on the company’s history and will update us on their New England project.

Dana Rebeiro, Massachusetts Liaison, focuses on community outreach and engagement for Vineyard Wind’s projects. Recently, Dana served on the New Bedford City Council where she advocated for homeowners and working residents in the city on various community issues, building partnerships with different organizations to raise the profile at city and state level. While serving in council Dana collaborated with the New Bedford Port Authority to bring the aquaculture industry to the city, helping to diversify an already thriving maritime industry in the region. She worked closely with the International Longshoreman’s Association to advocate for much needed improvements to the Pier.   Dana proudly serves on the committee for the Cape Verdean Recognition Parade as her Grandmother was one of the founders. She sits on the steering committee of AHA! a highly celebrated monthly arts and culture event in New Bedford. In her spare time Dana enjoys playing piano and drums, writing screenplays and watching the Boston Celtics.

Rose DeCosta, External Affairs Manager, is a community and stakeholder engagement specialist with a background in government and public policy including renewable energy policy. Prior to Vineyard Wind, she held several senior staff roles in the Massachusetts Senate including Deputy Chief of Staff to the Senate President where she worked on the 2016 Energy Diversity Act and the award-winning restoration of the historic Senate Chamber. Raised on Cape Cod and currently residing in Plymouth, Rose holds a bachelor’s of science in management and political science from Simmons University.

Climate Conversations is an informal group sponsored by CCAT and the Chelmsford Public Library. We meet on the second Thursday of each month using Zoom to share our concerns about Climate Change. Public invited. Meetings most often include guest speakers. We share a commitment to climate legislation, advocacy and education in our community to prevent the harmful effects of climate change and protect our planet. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns or wish to become active in CCAT. More information can be found on the Chelmsford Climate Action Team website.
