The Chelmsford Climate Action Team (CCAT) has submitted a Citizen’s Petition Article for the Spring 2021 Town Meeting proposing that Chelmsford charge a committee with studying and making recommendations for specific strategies and actions for the town to achieve a goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Bern Kosicki of the CCAT Leadership group will explain what this means and why it is good for Chelmsford. Bring your questions, concerns and help us determine how best to go forward.

Previously scheduled: No one knows trees like Jim Martin. Until his retirement in 2010, Jim worked as a professional arborist. Before that he ran his own company, Jas. F. Martin Consulting Arborist in Chelmsford, and for many years worked as a professor in Landscape Horticulture and Arboriculture in New England. Jim will share his expertise with us and answer your questions on planting, caring for and preserving older trees. Jim is the chairperson of  Chelmsford's Tree Committee and is an Adjunct Professor at University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Climate Conversations is an informal group sponsored by CCAT and the Chelmsford Public Library. We meet on the second Thursday of each month using Zoom to share our concerns about Climate Change. Public invited. Meetings most often include guest speakers. We share a commitment to climate legislation, advocacy and education in our community to prevent the harmful effects of climate change and protect our planet.
