Virtual Social Justice Book Group on Zoom

Virtual Social Justice Book Group on Zoom

In our new Social Justice Book Group we will be addressing civic engagement and reading an array of titles about identity, equality, justice, the environment, and much more. Our current vision is to read books that get us thinking and talking about how we as a community can move towards a more socially just future. In addition to book discussions, the group will host speaker programs and presentations themed around the selected book titles. This initial meeting is a get-to-know-you introduction open to all. We will talk about our intentions for the group and what to expect moving forward. Attendees are encouraged to bring a social justice book suggestion and review the Diversity and Social Justice Glossary from UMass Lowell.  We hope that by having a shared vocabulary it will encourage and support our ongoing discussions with each other.

Please register above to receive the Zoom link 24-48 hours before our meeting and/or, contact Lisa Francine, (978) 256-5521 ext. 1107, lfrancine@chelmsfordlibrary.org or Laura Judge (978) 256-5521 ext. 1134, ljudge@chelmsfordlibrary.org with any additional questions.

This book group is an informal group which meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month for lively conversation and includes a mix of fiction and non-fiction titles. Meetings typically do not occur during the months of July and August. If a normal meeting date falls on a holiday, then it is postponed to the following Tuesday.
