Are you an aspiring author, or someone who likes to write for fun? Submit a scary story to our Spooky Story Contest! Either drop off your story at the Children's Desk, or email it to Sara at sdempster@chelmsfordlibrary.org. Winners will be selected from these categories: K-1st grade, 2nd-3rd grade, 4th-5th grade, and middle school. Stories must be submitted by Saturday, October 17 to be eligible to win.

The winning stories will be read at the Virtual Spooky Story Celebration on Saturday, October 24.

Before you submit, make sure your story follows these guidelines:

• Authors must be in grades K - 8
• One author per story; one story each
• Stories must be typed or neatly written
• Stories must have a beginning, a middle, and an end
• Stories do not need illustrations
• Stories should be spooky and/or scary
