Climate Conversations

Climate Perspective

Have you been concerned about climate change for a while, but are now finally feeling the need to take effective action to help us get out of this predicament? We’ll discuss how to make sense out of climate change - how we got here, where we are going and what we can do about it. You will help us to understand reactions by sharing your opinions on some difficult questions in an anonymous survey.

Bern Kosicki is a retired physicist who has spent a career working on solid state devices, and brings his scientific perspective to help understand climate change. He was involved long ago in fighting various environmental issues- misguided flood control and pumped-storage-electricity projects in NY and NJ. He participated in the first Earth Day, as a co-founder of a small environmental group which ran the first-ever bottle collection days for our NJ town.

Bern enjoys human-powered outdoor activities, is an amateur astronomer, and enjoyed being a volunteer astronomy teacher for local schools for many years. About a year ago he was a co-founder of Chelmsford Climate Action Team.

Climate Conversations is an informal group sponsored by Elders Climate Action (ECA) and the Chelmsford Public Library. We meet on the second Thursday of each month in the McCarthy Meeting Room to share our concerns about Climate Change. Public invited. Meetings may include guest speakers, film screenings or book discussions to provide information and stimulate conversations on what we can do as individuals and as a community to reduce climate change and promote climate change legislation.
