Technology Works @ the Senior Center: iNaturalist
iNaturalist is a free online resource that helps you to identify plants and animals while contributing your observations to science ad conservation efforts. When you record your observations, you are contributing scientific data that help scientists gain an understanding of nature to make clearer projections for the future. It is a non-profit organization that started as a final project of students Ken-ichi Ueda, Nate Agrin, and Jessica Kline at UC Berkeley's School of Information in 2008, which later became an initiative for the California Academy of Sciences before becoming a non-profit organization in 2023. Curious to know more and help contribute to this unique project? Join us at the Senior Center to talk about the project and how it can make your walks outside engaging with the nature around you using iNaturalist.
