VIRTUAL: Chasing John Brown: A photographic journey exploring one of American history’s most enigmatic men.
This presentation follows the abolitionist John Brown’s path across America, tracing his radical fight against slavery from his birthplace in Torrington, Connecticut, to the rugged solitude of his home in North Elba, New York. It explores the landscapes that shaped his convictions—from the battlegrounds of Kansas, where he waged a violent campaign against pro-slavery forces, to the intellectual hub of Concord, Massachusetts, where his ideas found resonance among abolitionists. The journey culminates in West Virginia, where his raid on Harpers Ferry became a defining moment in the march toward Civil War.
