"Real Reads" - a Non-fiction Book Club

Registration is required. There are 11 in-person seats available. There are 20 online seats available.

Real Reads is our new non-fiction reading discussion group. We will explore excellent authors and world-changing ideas on urgent issues affecting the globe and our own back yards. We will meet every fourth Saturday at 3 p.m. in person (with this slight exception, a day late on February 1) in the Conference Room. Online access via Zoom is available by request.

For the March meeting, we will discuss Free the Land: How We Can Fight Poverty and Climate Chaos by Audrea Lim. Environmental journalist Lim explores the impact of land commodification as a threat to personal autonomy of the people living on the land, and the social and environmental implications of property held for profit. She offers solutions that promise to uplift communities and people while mitigating the climate catastrophe and other impacts on our health and our world.
