This Volunteer Fair is an opportunity for non-profit organizations, community groups, and town departments to connect with potential volunteers and new members, network with each other, and to showcase their organizations. This event is sponsored by the Chelmsford Public Library and the Chelmsford Senior Center.

Organizations participating in the 2025 fair include:

• 350 Mass of Greater Lowell - Working to organize the city of Lowell since 2012, 350 Mass is a volunteer led, non-profit focused on fighting climate change. The Greater Lowell Node includes volunteers from Chelmsford and other nearby towns with meetings and most public events centered in Lowell.
• Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell - A 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth development organization governed by a 33-member Board of Directors. Volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell is a great way to impact young lives in our community, and make a difference in your own life as well.
• Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm  - We offer a variety of therapeutic riding programs for people of all ages. Volunteers assist lessons by leading horses and side-walking next to clients to provide encouragement and stability.
• Chelmsford Art Society - Fostering an active interest in arts and crafts in the community via lectures, demonstrations by prominent artists, annual arts festival, art and craft show, exhibits and field trips. Awards the Richard J. Clemente Memorial Art Scholarship.
• Chelmsford Center for the Arts - The Chelmsford Center for the Arts offers a wide variety of entertainment options from country, jazz, rock, and classical music…to art exhibits, children’s events, theater and dance. Attend world-class performances and events year-round!
• Chelmsford Climate Action Team - Chelmsford Climate Action Team (CCAT) was formed in 2020, to help educate residents about climate change and to promote legislation and activities that will help to mitigate the negative effects of climate change. We work with the town’s Clean Energy and Sustainability Committee to get the word out to residents.
• Chelmsford Cultural Council - The Chelmsford Cultural Council is committed to funding a diverse cross-section of activities. We support a variety of art forms, works of local artists, environmental education projects and collaborative proposals that bring together artists, organizations, and local cultural groups in projects that serve Chelmsford and the surrounding communities.
• Chelmsford Friends of the Library - We wish to promote, sponsor, and carry out educational and public service purposes and objectives so as to encourage citizen interest and participation in the Chelmsford Public Library.
• Chelmsford Lions Club - The Chelmsford Lions Club raises money through the management of the Country Fair during the Fourth of July Celebration on the Common as well as at The Fall Fair also on the Common. The proceeds raised are used to support several projects throughout our local community.
• Chelmsford Minuteman Company - A minuteman re-enactment group, working to bring the American Revolution to life to preserve the country’s history.
• Chelmsford Recycling Committee - The Chelmsford Recycling Committee is a group of Chelmsford residents interested in helping our neighbors reduce their trash and increase their recycling and composting.
• Chelmsford Ride - Need a ride? ChelmsfordRIDE offers transportation services for adults (18 years and older) throughout Chelmsford for medical appointments, grocery shopping, and pharmacy trips.
• Chelmsford Senior Center / Council on Aging - We identify and promote programs which are designed to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents who are 60 years of age and older. Special Services include transportation, nutrition, health, outreach, respite care, home care, fuel assistance, Adult Supportive Day Program, Meals on Wheels, support groups, recreational & social activities, the “Senior Citizen Messenger” monthly newsletter, and information & referral.
• Chelmsford Women of Today - A dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to community service, personal growth, and fellowship. As the local chapter of the Massachusetts Women of Today, our purpose is to contribute to the betterment of our community while providing leadership training and personal enrichment for our members.
• EPIC - Empowering People for Inclusive Communities
• Happy Tails Pet Rescue - We are a small non-profit, We are a no-kill cat rescue organization in NH and MA. Our main shelter is in Hudson, NH and we have satellite locations at Petsmart stores in Plaistow, NH and Chelmsford. Adults and children are both welcome, but children under 18 must in the company of a parent or guardian at all times. Volunteer tasks include cleaning and socialization shifts at our various locations, transporting cats to appointments, helping at events, fostering cats, making crafts that can be used to raise money, assisting with social media, photographing cats for their adoption profiles, and much more!
• Lowell Humane Society - The purpose of the Lowell Humane Society is preventing cruelty to animals, providing care for homeless and distressed animals, and educating the public in proper animal care. Services: animal shelter and animal protective society; animals for adoption; Pet Therapy for Senior Citizens; animal population control; lost & found; humane education and information services; ambulance services.
• Lowell National Historical Park - Individuals and groups seeking volunteer opportunities can help the park in a variety of ways.
• Massachusetts Department of Children and Families - The Department of Children and Families is the state agency charged with protecting children and ensuring that they are safe and well-cared for.
• Middlesex Community College Law Center - The Middlesex Community College Law Center in Lowell is a community mediation center that has provided conflict resolution services since 1989. We administer consumer protection, individual, community, and trial court mediation services and training, as well as school-based violence prevention programs.
• Chelmsford Military Community Covenant - Established by the Chelmsford Board of Selectmen in 2009, in partnership with Hanscom AFB as a formal effort to support military families living in Chelmsford. The primary purpose of the program is to make Chelmsford feel more like home for military by drawing upon a support network of volunteers and contributions from the local business community.
• Upper Merrimack Valley Medical Reserve Corps - One of about 33 Medical Reserve Corps units in Massachusetts – and one of nearly 800 across America – that is actively recruiting, training, and deploying civilian volunteers in case of emergencies. We are always eager to welcome new members who would like to make a difference in their community, both in responding to a crisis and supporting local community health programs. Although this is a regional unit which serves the seven communities across the Upper Merrimack Valley, applicants can choose whether to serve in their town only, the UMV region, or across Massachusetts upon urgent request. Please be aware that we cannot accept volunteers under the age of 18.
• The Wish Project - Connecting non-profit agencies to the public “one wish at a time”. We are partnered with 25 non-profit agencies in the Merrimack Valley and help to provide needed goods for their low-income clients.
• Women’s Money Matters (formerly Budget Buddies) - Want to help a woman in your community become more economically self sufficient by managing her money more effectively? Women’s Money Matters offers a financial literacy program for women over the age of 14 who are living on low-incomes, many in transitional housing. Our programs are for cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of women.
