"Real Reads" - a Non-fiction Book Club- HYBRID

Registration is required. There are 12 in-person seats available. There are 20 online seats available.

Real Reads is our new non-fiction reading discussion group. We will explore excellent authors and world-changing ideas on urgent issues affecting the globe and our own back yards.

We will meet every fourth Saturday at 3 p.m. in person in the Conference Room and virtually on Zoom.

This month, we will discuss the book Ruin their Crops on the Ground : The Politics of Food in the United States, from the Trail of Tears to School Lunch by Andrea Freeman. The book examines food policy in America since as far back as 1789, and how that policy has been used to maintain an underfed underclass along racial boundaries.
