The Caminos de Santiago were medieval pilgrimage routes that have enjoyed a 21st century renaissance. Today people from all over the world walk the routes to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. Most travel what has become the iconic Camino de Santiago - the Camino Frances route. This 500-mile way extends from the French border across Spain to Santiago, and it is this route that Meg Holmes experienced in 2011 and 2015. Meg Holmes feels very thankful that she has had a career that she truly enjoyed. For over 33 years as a school librarian, she helped students develop a love of story and life-long learning. When she retired, she and her husband Jack continued their own learning by traveling and exploring the world. Over the last 12 years, Meg has discovered the unique pleasure of distance walking and trekking, and, in between trips to familiar and unfamiliar places, Meg teaches taiji which is another enriching journey in itself. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. NOTE: This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 24 hours of the program.
