This month we will be discussing the book, Slightly Shady by Amanda Quick

Londoner Lavinia Lake had made a comfortable home for herself and her niece, running an antique store in Rome. Little did she know, however, that a band of thieves was using her quaint little shop for their illegal purposes. This bit of information was made perfectly clear to Lavinia when one Tobias March barged in and began tearing the antique shop--junk shop, to be more precise--apart, searching for incriminating evidence. Streetwise Tobias knew Lavinia had no idea what had been transpiring under her nose so he arranged for a carriage to send her back to London, out of harm's way. So began the relationship between this mismatched pair. When the two meet again under different though no less unusual circumstances, a certain animosity develops that drips with sexual tension. Can this unlikely duo join forces to solve the mysteries that have thrown them together? The ever-popular Quick has a flair for quirky, lovable characters, and both Lavinia and Tobias fit the bill. The Mystery Book Group meets at 2:00 PM on the fourth Wednesday of every month. We read a wide variety of titles, from the classics to historical mysteries to contemporary thrillers. Currently the group is fashioned on our hybrid model – members can attend in person at the main branch of the library or attend via zoom.
